Course description: In this course a computational view of signals and systems is implemented and students will acquire basic knowledge necessary in computer engineering, communication, control and electronics. Topics are as follows. Signals as functions. Systems as functions. Systems with the memory. State-space model. Discrete and continuous - time signals. Response of linear discrete-time systems. Response of linear continuous-time systems. Transfer function and frequency response. z - transform and the discrete time systems analysis. Basic structures for the implementation of LTI systems. Fourier analysis for continuous-time signals. Fourier analysis for discrete-time signals. Properties of the discrete-time Fourier transform. Discrete-time processing of continuous-time signals. The Discrete Fourier Transform.
