METHODS AND EQUIPMENT FOR MOULDING PROCESS

Seminar work and presentation 60% Oral exam 40%

The interaction with students during class and during case study presentation understanding of the material and the acquisition of competencies and skills in accordance with the learning outcomes is verified.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes):

Select aggregate (molding sand) and binders sand molds and cores according to casting process
Explain machinery for sand molds and cores
Explain permanent mold casting methods and machinery
Explain permanent mold (die) production
Calculate a gating and risering system
Manufacture both soft and hard casting mold with core
Describe casting process simulation possibilities
Set the parameters for castings" filling and solidification simulation software
