Course description: Course objectives: Introducing students to: management definitions, management history, organizational structures. managerial tasks, quantitative methods in management, the importance of finance and accounting for managers in engineering, the importance and role of information technology in management
Enrolment requirements and required entry competences for the course:
Student responsibilities: Attending lectures and exercises Completing homework assignments 2 Completing seminar paper 1
Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam: Test 1 30%, Test 2 30% or final exam 60% Homeworks 10% Seminar 20 % Oral exam 10%
Methods of monitoring quality that ensure acquisition of exit competences: Knowledge verification by 2 tests. Continuous monitoring of participation in class and through homeworks.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes): Describe and interpret the theory of management Identify the basic skills, roles, functions and levels of management Apply basic settings of the entrepreneurial management Apply decisionmaking in manufacturing companies Analyze the impact of certain entities of the environment on the management of production and business systems View and analyze production processes Calculate the elements of the success of production processes and enterprises Cooperate in teamwork and decision making Communicate about the problems of enterprises and publicly present the results.
