Course description: The purpose of this course is to give the students the practical knowledge about digital signal processing and stochastic systems. The course offers an individual hands-on experience about the theoretical concepts that are taught in Digital Signal Processing. Modeling and simulation of synthetic and real-world random processes. Mean, variance and power spectrum estimation. Design and implementation of optimum linear systems: Wiener and matched filter. Modeling of quantization noise. Optimum scalar quantization. Depending on the profile, students will learn about communication protocols or advanced algorithms and data structures for information processing.
