Course description: This course introduces dedicated EDA/CAD software tools in applications in the process of electronic equipment and systems design. Students are provided with an overview of feasibilitiy, application fields and limitations of commercial state-of-the-art EDA/CAD tools. Contents: Technical documentation overview. Schematic capture of circuit diagrams using EDA/CAD tools: fundamentals of schematic entry, procedure of drawing simple and complex circuits, component symbols library management, electrical rule check and netlist generation. Circuit analysis and simulation. Overview of printed circuit board (PCB) design process in EDA/CAD environment: component placement, PCB layout, mechanical design considerations and manufacturing documentation generation. PCB design analysis, simulation and verification. Design recommendations for circuits and equipment with special requirements.
