Description of general and specific competences (knowledge and skills) to be developed by this course:
The basic aim of this course is to get the students acquainted with all relevant aspects of leadership as key assumption for successful management of organization. The distinction between leadership and management is that leadership is usually connected to special stratum of people - the change generators. Leadership cannot be learned in class completely. Throughout this course students should acquire the fundamentals of leadership and gain the basic knowledge in this fuzzy field. Among other things, special attention will be paid to the difference between transactional and transformational leaders, team leadership and the relationship between leadership and ethics. The characteristics of the modern 21st century leader are also emphasized.
