Course description:
Aims: To get acquainted with the scientific assumptions, goals, some results and history of the psychology of music from musicological, pedagogical and psychological points of view. To gain insight into the scope, methods and goals of contemporary musicological research. To train students for simple independent research in the field of psychology of music and touching sciences. At the macro-level of the study program, the student acquires an understanding of the development and structure of musicality, the effects of music on humans, the motivation to learn music. The course contributes to a general understanding of musical processes and the acquisition of musical knowledge and skills. Such knowledge is directly related to the knowledge acquired in courses on music pedagogy and teaching methodology, as well as the history of systematic musicology. The exam is oral and includes a discussion of one of the assigned bibliographic units and topics covered in the lectures. The components of the final grade are attendance, fulfillment of obligations and activity in class (40%), group written work with presentation (30%), and an oral exam (30%).
