Course description:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the specific features of English language for police purposes as well as the basics of communication in that field with a special reference to the core vocabulary. To develop the necessary level of productive use of English language for police purposes. To encourage developing skills necessary for the further professional development and self-study.

Learning outcomes:

1. to identify fundamental police terms in English

2. to describe their typical workday

3. to list some police powers and police duties in general and particularly to their own duties

4. to write an essay or short presentation explaining whether they would like to live in a crimeless town

5. to apply acquired knowledge about traffic stop in simulated situations
