- Course description:
- Adoption, understanding and personal examination of the principles of graphic design at the conceptual, design and technological level. Mastering knowledge and skills for successful graphic design of visual communication media. Understanding historical development and stylistic characteristics of the poster and its communication requirements. Expanding the graphic vocabulary, from simple solving of communication problems to interpretation, conceptual thinking, expression of personal attitude, use of metaphors, symbolism, abstraction and introduction of humor. Understanding and ability to analyze the properties and ways of functioning of print media in the contemporary context. Developing critical thinking about the contemporary social context and the role of the design profession. Synthesis of knowledge and skills acquired in the educational process with the goal of independent creative design of means of visual communication.

- Learning outcomes:
1. Design a research project. conduct research and interpret results independently. develop a project in the form of a visual essay.
2. Design and create a concept in visual communication media.
3. Critically and argumentatively present work to a professional and general audience.
4. Synthesise knowledge and skills from other theoretical and practical courses in the typographic design of visual communication tools.
5. Apply knowledge, skills and principles of graphic design, typography and layout in designing means of visual communication at a higher degree of complexity.
6. Present a project according to the rules of the profession.
