Course description:
This course enables students to get acquainted with the art-historical overview and chronology of artistic periods. It also includes analyzing different stylistic characteristics and distinguishing works of art from certain art periods, as well as familiarization with art trends (morphological and typological characteristics of epochs, and on relationships and oscillations of taste) mainly in European art, and the application of acquired knowledge about historical-artistic hermeneutics in interpretation and analysis of a work of art. Learning outcomes After passing the course, students will be able to: 1) describe and define the style features of each art-historical period 2) distinguish and compare works from different art-periods and/or authors 3) identify the morphological and typological characteristics of artistic eras 4) use and apply acquired knowledge when analyzing a work of art
