Course description:
Basic knowledge of piano literature. Mastery of less demanding etudes and poliphonic compositions (two part inventions, movements of French suites). Correct performance of compositions from the classic style (sonatas, sonatinas, rondos). Interpreting compositions of different styles and authors from the 19th and 20th century. Playing compositions of Croatian authors. Acqusition of piano knowledge for teaching (playing parts, reading " a vista", piano accompaniment for various instruments).

Learning outcomes:

1. Know how to apply various kind of piano technic in etudes

2. Know how to play two voices in poliphonic compositions

3. Knowing how to distinguish structural forms in sonatas, rondos and variations

4. Knowing how to use different ways of practice studying various compositions

5. To be able to interprete compositions of various styles (expressive performance) of the 19th and 20th century

6. Analyse and interpret different components of a musical work such as musical form, harmonic and polyphonic component.

7. Harmonize tonal melodic lines on the piano.

8. Work as an associate in primary and secondary schools' extracurricular music activities.

9. Work as an associate in conducting choirs and instrumental ensembles.

10. Play music scores of choral and orchestral compositions on the piano.

11. Play the piano to accompany moderately demanding choral, instrumental or singing compositions.
