Course description:
Acquiring knowledge related to the independent creation of a written master's thesis in the field of music theory or music teaching methodology. Learning the methodological sequence necessary for specialized mastery of the chosen topic. Mastering the creation of a synopsis for a work of 80 cards of text, according to scientific standards, including sheet music examples (but not attachments). Acquaintance with scientific literature from the chosen field.
Learning outcomes:

1. Choose literature with regard to the chosen field of interest;

2. Independently carry out research related to the chosen topic;

3. - Organize the order of research;

4. - Create and explain the concept of the master's thesis;

5. Apply scientific-methodological knowledge and skills to the creation of a master's thesis.

6. Analyse and interpret different components of a musical work such as musical form, composition technique, harmonic and polyphonic component, orchestration.

7. Harmonise and improvise given melodic templates on the piano.

8. Perform piano accompaniment of choral or moderately demanding instrumental and singing compositions.

9. Sing, prima vista, a demanding tonal and atonal example.

10. Adapt the music score for different types of vocal and instrumental ensembles.

11. Synthetise the acquired knowledge and skills in the fields of music-theory or music-methodology.

12. Aurally recognise musical artwork with regard to the historical period of origin, stylistic and compositional characteristics, style and tonal provenance.

13. Aurally reconstruct and record tonal musical examples of single-, two-, three- and four-voices.

14. Use music notation software.

15. Play music scores of choral and orchestral compositions on the piano.

16. Master basic singing techniques for the purpose of conducting choirs and vocal groups.

17. Conduct various amateur level vocal and instrumental ensembles, i.e. choirs and orchestras.
