Course description:
Objectives of the course Acquisition of basic knowledge about string instruments, their specificities in color, sound, registers, technique. Getting to know the technique of the right and left hands. Creating a relationship with the sound image of the given score and the prepared content based on it. Mastering the notation of the string quartet and orchestra score and formatting the score.

Learning outcomes:

1. Analyse and interpret different components of a musical work such as musical form, harmonic and polyphonic component.

2. Harmonise tonal melodic lines on the piano.

3. Interpret the goals and tasks of different forms of music teaching.

4. Create methodological topics, theoretical and practical, for the classes Music Culture, Music Art and Solfeggio.

5. Recognise and characterise auditory musical examples of folk music from different parts of Croatia.

6. Make music arrangements for a mandolin quintet, mandolin orchestra and tamburitza orchestra.

7. Work as an associate in primary and secondary schools' extracurricular music activities.

8. Work as an associate in conducting choirs and instrumental ensembles.

9. Aurally recognise musical artwork with regard to the historical period of origin and stylistic characteristics.

10. Aurally reconstruct and record tonal musical examples of single-, two-, three- and four-voices.

11. Use music notation software.

12. Play harmonic accompaniment on guitar.

13. Play music scores of choral and orchestral compositions on the piano.

14. Play the piano to accompany moderately demanding choral, instrumental or singing compositions.
