Course description:
Acquiring basic facts about joint musicianship in a mandolin orchestra. Getting to know the literature for the mandolin orchestra. Mastering playing the mandola or mandoloncello. Mastering the grip up to the fifth position. 1st, 2nd, 3rd hour: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves (1st - 5th position) Getting to know the literature for the mandolin orchestra. Mastering playing the mandola and mandoloncello. 4th, 5th, 6th hours: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves. Work on literature, practicing compositions for mandolin orchestra Insistence on quality of tone, dynamics and agogic, change of tone color. Examples of a vista - solo and chamber music 7th, 8th, 9th hours: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves. Creating compositions of moderate difficulty Examples of a vista. 10th, 11th, 12th hours: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves. Work on literature for mandolin orchestra: 13th, 14th, 15th hours: Creation and improvement of a selected composition for mandolin orchestra, and selected solo compositions from the literature offered for the exam.

Learning outcomes:

1. know the composition of the mandolin orchestra

2. to play in a mandolin orchestra

3. master the grip to the fifth position

4. Analyse and interpret different components of a musical work such as musical form, harmonic and polyphonic component.

5. Create methodological topics, theoretical and practical, for the classes Music Culture, Music Art and Solfeggio.

6. Make music arrangements for a mandolin quintet, mandolin orchestra and tamburitza orchestra.

7. Work as an associate in primary and secondary schools' extracurricular music activities.

8. Work as an associate in conducting choirs and instrumental ensembles.

9. Aurally recognise musical artwork with regard to the historical period of origin and stylistic characteristics.

10. Play harmonic accompaniment on guitar.
