Course description:
Adopting the technique of changing positions. Mastering playing chords in all positions. Greater nuance of the musical performance of mandolin literature. 1st, 2nd, 3rd hours: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves to the fifth position. Cadence through 3 octaves. Exercises for coordinating left and right hands. Exercises for change position. Work on literature for mandolin orchestra. 3rd, 4th, 5th hours: Major and minor scales through 3 octaves. Cadence through 3 octaves. Chords in all positions. Creation of default literature. 6th, 7th, 8th hour: Work on literature, creation of assigned compositions. Chamber music, baroque duets a vista. 8th, 9th, 10th hour: Work on literature for mandolin orchestra. 11., 12., 13. hours: Improving compositions for mandolin orchestra. Selection of compositions for final exam.

Learning outcomes:

1. Apply techniques from 1st to 5th position to playing compositions

2. Convincingly interpret given compositions

3. Apply technical and performance knowledge to playing in a mandolin orchestra.

4. Analyse and interpret different components of a musical work such as musical form, harmonic and polyphonic component.

5. Create methodological topics, theoretical and practical, for the classes Music Culture, Music Art and Solfeggio.

6. Make music arrangements for a mandolin quintet, mandolin orchestra and tamburitza orchestra.

7. Work as an associate in primary and secondary schools' extracurricular music activities.

8. Work as an associate in conducting choirs and instrumental ensembles.

9. Aurally recognise musical artwork with regard to the historical period of origin and stylistic characteristics.

10. Play harmonic accompaniment on guitar.
