Course description:
Introduction with the area of work of metal conservators-restorers and the basics of preserving cultural goods made of metals through international documents on the ethical principles of conservation-restoration. Acquiring knowledge about the cultural meaning of metals (gold, silver, platinum, copper, iron, zinc, lead, aluminum, nickel, chrome...), historical overview of their use and production technology. Recognition of various phenomena of corrosion and metal damage. Acquiring knowledge about preventive metal conservation.
