Course description:
The course Documentation Photography in Conservation and Restoration 1, through a combination of field photography, practical work and theoretical knowledge, teaches about: - Understanding the basic difficulties when recording with a camera and how to solve them. - Understanding light and different illuminations on the recording object. - The method of recording the object in a clear and recognizable way, with enough information that can be read from the image. - Understanding the building elements of a photographic image and the basics of framing. - Basic processing of photographic images in Adobe Photoshop and preparation for printing.

Learning outcomes:

1. Explain the lighting situation on the recording object.

2. Propose a photographic solution.

3. Apply the available photographic technique.

4. Take a photo according to the photographic task.

5. Analyze the technical quality of the captured photo.

6. Know how to distinguish information from emotion, and know how to incorporate them into a photographic image.

7. Make basic digital image processing and prepare it for printing.

8. Describe the current state of cultural property.

9. Be aware of the aesthetic aspect of conservation-restoration activities and develop artistic and aesthetic sensibility to a satisfactory degree.

10. Maintain appropriate forms of documentation of the conservation-restoration intervention.
