- Course description:
- <br> The objective of the course is to provide teoretical and practical knowledge and skills in land surveying as a fundamental geodetic activity <br> <strong>Learning outcomes at the level of the programme to which the course contributes</strong> <ul><li>Understand the role of geodesy, geoinformatics and spatial data in modern world, demonstrate competences in measuring systems, methods and technologies of measurement and spatial data collection <li>Demonstrate competences in theoretical principles, procedures of computing and visualising the surveying data <li>Handle geodetic instruments and appropriate measuring equipment properly, and perform geodetic measurements <li>Solve practical tasks in surveying, spatial data collection, real estate evaluation and management <li>Establish geodetic networks needed in surveying and stakeout in order to provide the required quality of the works performed in certain space <li>Keep pace with and adopt new technological achievements in the field of surveying, geoinformation systems and services based on the position, and the changes in regulations, norms and standards</ul> <strong>Learning outcomes expected at the level of the course</strong> <ul><li>Describe and apply the basic principles and methods of land survey <li>Describe the basic geodetic network, their establishment and implementation <li>Describe the procedure of field inspection in order to establish the basic geodetic networks <li>Stabilize, measure and establish the basis for detailed land surveying <li>Explain the types of traverses respect to their connection on the basic geodetic networks <li>Explain and distinguish methods of determining the height in land surveying <li>Use appropriate surveying instruments in theland surveying <li>Describe and apply the procedure of calculating the coordinates of geodetic points and a detailed points</ul> <strong>Course content broken down in detail by weekly class schedule (syllabus)</strong><br> Lectures: <ol><li>Basic concepts and principles of land surveying. Geodetic basis for surveying the land and putting them in place, methods of surveying and measurement quantities. Basics coordinate calculations <li>Coordinate systems of Gauss-Kruger projection meridian zones. Coordinate system HTRS96/TM <li>Basic concepts of triangulation. Basic concepts of GNSS measurements, measurement methods and the principle of fitting in terrestrial systems <li>Geodetic basis in the form of traverses. Traverse. Both sides are connected, connected only by coordinates, closed and blind traverse. Connection to the inaccessible point <li>Field inspection and stabilization of geodetic points <li>Measurement of angles in the traverses and sources of uncertainty in the measurement of angles, a priori estimation of accuracy of measurement and permitted angular deviation <li>Linear measurement in traverses. Measuring the length with the electro-optical distance meters and sources of uncertainty of measurement. Corrections of measured length due to meteorological factors, reducing the surface of the reference ellipsoid and the correction due to deformations of the projection <li>Preliminary exam <li>Calculating coordinates of traverse points by approximate methods. Calculating the coordinates of small points (on the line and vertical) <li>Levelling. The general terms, the principle of determining height differences, a division of leveling <li>General leveling, rules of operation, the stabilization of refernce height points. Sources of uncertainty in leveling. Connection of leveling travers to reference hight point <li>Calculation of leveling traverse. Detailed leveling. Leveling of profile and surfaces <li>Trigonometric and GNSS measurements of height differences. Determination of height differences of close points <li>Land surveying methods. Polar method (Tacheometry). Rules in surveying, selection of points, dependence of scale to surveying details and the use of topographic key. The encoded tacheometry.
