Opis predmeta:
Kolegij nastoji ponuditi uvid u suvremena kretanja interdisciplinarnog područja studija popularne glazbe, ukazati na različite perspektive i pristupe istraživanju popularne glazbe te pripremiti studente za samostalna etnografska istraživanja lokalnih i/ili globalnih popularnoglazbenih fenomena. Kroz predavanja, analitičko čitanje znanstvenih studija i otvorene diskusije o odabranim aspektima popularne glazbe kolegij afirmira pristup glazbi kao zvuku i konceptu; glazbi kao kulturi i načinu života određenom društvenim i ideološkim konvencijama; glazbi kao proizvodu i industriji; te glazbi kao društvenoj i simboličkoj praksi. Ishodi učenja:

1. Polaznicima bi pohađanje predmeta trebalo omogućiti stjecanje sljedećih kompetencija: - poznavanje povijesnog razvoja interdisciplinarnog područja studija popularne glazbe

2. poznavanje temeljne metodologije i teorijskih uporišta znanstvenih disciplina kojima je popularna glazba jednim od predmeta istraživanja (muzikologija, etnomuzikologija, studiji popularne glazbe, sociologija, antropologija, kulturalni studiji, rodni studiji)

3. sposobnost analitičkog pristupa odabranim žanrovima i stilovima popularne glazbe te kulturnim kontekstima njihova nastanka, diseminacije i uporabe

4. poznavanje ključnih poglavlja znanstvene literature o popularnoj glazbi

5. umijeće kritičkog čitanja i analize stručne literature o popularnoj glazbi
